Artists combine their works for show



A painting by Chang Meijuan. Beauty without Borders, a joint show by Mongolian artist Tsegmid Soyolmaa and Chinese ink painter Chang Meijuan, kicked off at the embassy of Mongolia in Beijing on Monday.The exhibition displays more than 40 ink paintings by the two female artists. Works of Chang, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, are mostly figure paintings while those of Soyolmaa centers on birds and flowers. The show is to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the Cultural and Information Center of the embassy.The painters said at the opening ceremony that their works demonstrate the beauty of their own nations and they hope such kind of cultural exchanges can boost the friendship between China and Mongolia.A painting by Mongolian artist Tsegmid Soyolmaa. Xin Shaocheng, an artist with China National Academy of Painting, said that Soyolmaa's paintings of birds and flowers vividly reflect the landscape of the vast grasslands in Mongolia and Chang's works present the beauty of Chinese women in different dynasties.Qin Dailun, curator of the show, said that the joint show is a successful case of cultural cooperation between artists from the two nations. He hopes that in future there will be more cultural exchanges to strengthen the friendship of China and Mongolia.The show will last through Nov 20, with a series of cultural activities held at the embassy.A painting by Chang Meijuan.
