Shanghai Disney kicks off the Year of Tigger

On the first day of the first lunar month, Shanghai Disney Resort opened the Year of the Tiger with a unique traditional Chinese lion eye-touching ceremony, presenting visitors with authentic Chinese New Year customs and experiences. Mickey and Joe Schott, president and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, put their eyes on the two Lions in front of the story-teller statue to wish all visitors good luck in the coming year.



Minnie and her animated character Tigger from Winnie the Pooh also made an appearance at the festival. As the "big star" of the Year of the Tiger, this is also the first time tigger has starred at the festival since the resort opened.



Shanghai Disney Resort's specially designed Celebration of the Year of the Tiger continues the resort's "Amazing year" of 5th birthday celebrations, offering visitors more wonderful experiences and magical surprises.
This year, the resort's Lunar New Year celebration will continue until February 16, welcoming visitors with a series of New Year experiences, including wonderful performances, creative activities, delicious food, festive decorations and a variety of products.
